Updating My Coffee Bar: A Fresh Look with Smeg and Keurig Appliances

I’ve always enjoyed my coffee bar, but there was one big eyesore that I couldn’t ignore, the black Keurig coffee maker. This little area of my kitchen served as a coffee bar and a display space for my pretty dishes and appliances, and I wanted everything to flow together. My main goal was to tie in my love for florals and vibrant colors into the space. However, the black Keurig just didn’t fit the aesthetic I was going for.

While the Keurig was functional and served its purpose, I knew it was time for an update. I had already invested in a stylish Smeg toaster, and I thought it would be perfect to pair it with the Smeg coffee pot to create a cohesive look. Initially, I didn’t want to spend the extra money on the new coffee maker when I first moved in, so I decided to hold off.

For my birthday, I was gifted the charming Smeg coffee pot, and I couldn't have been happier. I quickly replaced the black Keurig with my new coffee pot, and it looked fantastic. But as I started using it, I realized I missed the convenience of the Keurig for a quick afternoon coffee pick-me-up. I started making smaller pots with my Smeg coffee maker, but cleaning it twice a day was a hassle I wasn't willing to commit to.

That's when I stumbled upon the perfect solution, a sage green Keurig on Walmart! The soft, earthy color complemented my existing decor beautifully, and I felt it would work perfectly with the other colors in my coffee bar. It was a happy medium between my desire for an aesthetically pleasing coffee bar and the practicality I needed.

Tips for Decorating Your Coffee Bar and Kitchen Space:

Tip 1: Stick to a Color Scheme. When decorating your coffee bar or kitchen, consistency is key. Choose a color palette that flows through the entire space to create a cohesive and balanced look. In my case, the sage green Keurig and the pastel/neutral tones in my Smeg appliances helped pull everything together.

Tip 2: Stay Within Your Budget. It’s easy to get carried away when decorating, but try not to overspend just because something looks appealing. I probably wouldn’t have purchased the Smeg coffee pot myself, but luckily, my thoughtful in-laws gave it to me as a gift. It’s important to stay within your budget to avoid unnecessary splurging.

Tip 3: Love Your Space and Keep Updating. One of the most important things I’ve learned in decorating is that even when you’re happy with a space, you can always make updates to enhance it. Whether it’s a new appliance or small decor changes, your coffee bar should evolve as you do. Don’t forget to take pictures along the way so you can see how far you’ve come and potentially revert to past designs if you choose to!

Thanks for joining me in the journey of updating my coffee bar. I hope you find inspiration to create a space that’s both functional and beautiful!

Until next time,

Brittany
